Criminal Record Check
Any coach/assistant/safety person who has contact with the players on a reqular basis, requires an up to date criminal record check to be on file with WKMHA. Please email Kim Schultz at firstname.lastname@example.org for further informaiton and instrucitons to complete. If you need to check the status of your previous criminal record check, please also email Kim Schultz.
Respect in Sport (RiS) "formerly Speak Out"
Any coach/assistant/trainer requires RiS. This is an online course, you can register by clicking on the link below. WKMHA will reimburse costs, please forward receipt to Kiim Schultz at email@example.com once complete.
Starting in 2014-2015 anyone who took RiS more than four years previous will be expired. So in 2014-2015 anyone who took RiS in the 09-10 season or earlier would be expired. RiS expires after 4 years.
Coach - Hybrid Coaching ClinicThe hybrid NCCP Coach Certification is designed for coaches of Initiation, Novice, Atom Dev. and recreational teams. The course is offered as a blended model, with modules offered via e-learning and, once completed, a face to face clinic. Delegates are qualified after both the e-learning and the face to face clinic components are completed. To register for the NCCP Hybrid course, visit the Hockey University website and register for the HU-Comm Coach Stream. Upon completion, again access the Hockey University website and register for the Coach - Hybrid (CHKG) of your choise. WKMHA will reimburse costs, please forward receipt to Kim Schultz at firstname.lastname@example.org once complete.
Developmental 1 Coaching Clinic
Any coach or assistant coach at the Rep Level, must have the Developmental 1 coaching clinic. This is a 2 day clinic. You can register by clicking on the link below. WKMHA will reimburse costs once your post-task has been approved as certification. Trainer/Safety Person (HCSP)
Every team requires a Trainer/Safety Person. All HCSP clinics are now available only as an on-line e-learning course. Face to face HCSP clinics are no longer offered by BC Hockey. Delegates will register for the HU-Safety course via the Hockey University website. This program is a great introduction to team safety, injury recognition and important information for anyone who wishes to be a team Safety Person. From the Fair Play code and Code of Ethics, to Safety at the Rink, Injury Management and the Emergency Action Plan, this program gives you the information and confidence needed to be the go to person on your team for health, wellness, injury recognition as well as safe and proper recovery and return to play procedures.
