To understand and adhere to policies set forth by the WKMHA Executive.
+ Assist in player evaluation at the beginning of the season, including preparing team lists for evaluators and making sure pinneys are handed out and collected after each evaluation session. Facilitate and assist in team selection to be sure all WKMHA policies are adhered to in order for the selection of even teams.
+ Schedule all practices and EXHIBITION games (league scheduling will be done by the administrator) for their division to ensure equal ice time is provided to all teams. You will receive your ice times from the Administrator. The Manager must ensure that practice/game ratios within the division are in accordance with League Guidelines as approved by the Executive.
+ The House Manager is responsible to assist teams, if necessary, in securing positions in tournaments for teams in the division, and making sure to allocate tournaments fairly to each team, taking into consideration the number of tournaments, and the distance traveled for each team. Each division has maximum tournament criteria established, and the House Manager is to ensure such criteria are not voided.
+ The House Manager is responsible to monitor the practice of "picking up" a player to play in a tournament or game with another team. Picking up is allowed to fill out a roster, but requests for players must be made through the House Manager, not from Coach to Coach or Coach to player. The House Manager will ensure that no player is picked up more than once during the season, and that only players from within the Division are picked up. PLEASE NOTE: They must adhere to the Player Affiliation Policy per BC Hockey and Hockey Canada guidelines.
+ The House Manager is to take full participation, with the assistance of individual Team Managers, in the running of the tournament for division.
What the House Manager is not responsible for:
The House Manager is not a "technical" resource to evaluate players and coaches. All technical evaluations are to be done in consultation between the coaches, the Director of Hockey Operations & Programs, Coach Mentor, and Director of Hockey Divisions.
